The right neighborhood matters as much as the right house. Explore the areas we know best, with honest takes on lifestyle, schools, commute, and value.
Houston is not a one-size-fits-all market. The right area depends on how you want to live, where you need to be, the type of home you want, and what matters most to you long term. Here are four communities we know especially well.
The Woodlands offers a different rhythm from central Houston: heavily wooded neighborhoods, extensive trails and parks, established residential villages, and major shopping, dining, entertainment, and employment centers all within the community.
Located about 27 miles north of downtown Houston, The Woodlands was designed as a master-planned community built around its natural setting. Today, its network includes more than 150 parks and roughly 220 miles of hike-and-bike pathways, while Town Center, Market Street, The Waterway, and Hughes Landing create a more urban core within the community.
Memorial combines established residential neighborhoods, mature landscaping, and convenient access to some of Houston's major employment, shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations.
The area stretches across west Houston near the I-10 corridor and includes a wide range of residential settings, from quiet streets with traditional homes to larger custom properties. Memorial City, CityCentre, the Energy Corridor, and major employment centers are all within relatively easy reach.
Spring Branch blends established Houston neighborhoods with ongoing redevelopment. Mature trees, older ranch-style homes, newer construction, townhomes, and smaller residential pockets create a market that can feel noticeably different from one street to the next.
The broader Spring Branch area sits north of I-10, generally between Loop 610 and Beltway 8, giving residents direct access to Memorial City, the Energy Corridor, the Galleria, and central Houston. Its location and varied housing stock have also made it one of west Houston's more active areas for renovation and new residential development.
Katy offers a broad residential market, from established neighborhoods near the historic city center to newer master-planned communities extending throughout the greater Katy area. Buyers can find everything from traditional single-family homes to newer construction and larger properties.
Located roughly 30 miles west of downtown Houston along I-10, Katy also sits near the Grand Parkway, making it well connected to west Houston and the Energy Corridor. The broader area continues to grow with residential communities, retail, recreation, and mixed-use development.
